Teams and entity-level sharing

Group people into teams, share specific deals or contacts with team-level access.

Northpoint's sharing model is deliberate: your workspace sees the work, the money is role-gated, and outsiders see only what you've explicitly handed them. Three mechanisms make that happen — teams, entity-level sharing, and note visibility.

Teams

Teams group people who work a book together. Manage them from Team in the sidebar (the Teams tab) — New Team, name it, add members. Every agent also has a Personal team for their own data. Contacts and deals shared with a team are visible to all its members, so a co-listing partnership or an agent-plus-TC pod shares a working set without sharing everything.

Sharing a specific deal or contact

Every deal and contact page has a Collaborators widget. + Add collaborator shares that one record — with a person by email, or with a whole team — at one of two access levels: Read only or Read & write. Change the level or remove access any time from the same widget.

Outside collaborators

Sharing with someone outside your workspace makes them a Collaborator (they need a Northpoint account first). Collaborators see only the contacts, deals, and teams shared with them — no workspace settings, no member list, no data tools. It's the right shape for a TC at another brokerage or an attorney on one transaction. How collaborators differ from full members is covered in Invite your team.

Who sees the money

Financials — commissions, deal expenses, the Commission tab — are visible to the workspace owner and agents only. That's a role rule, not a per-share switch: sharing a deal with an assistant or a collaborator shares the work, never the money.

Note visibility

Every note on a contact or deal carries a visibility level:

  • Just me — only you. Hidden from your team.
  • My workspace — everyone in the workspace. The default for members.
  • Collaborators — the workspace plus any external collaborators on that record.

So the candid internal note ("seller is motivated, don't show it") stays workspace-only even on a record you've shared out — collaborators never see workspace-level notes.

If you don't see these features

Teams and outside collaborators can be switched off at the workspace level. If the surfaces described here aren't visible, ask your workspace owner to enable them.
